Ellana Minerals Cosmetics is a cosmetics store that uses 100% vegan ingredients, talc-free, fragrance-free and cruelty-free. They are known for their loose mineral foundation which was hyped to be a full coverage foundation that lasts all day.
In one of my makeup hauls, I bought the foundation travel kit which has the loose mineral foundation in a 1.3g jar. I have mine the shade French Vanilla.
In the website, they have provided steps on how to use the product:
- Allow your light moisturizer and/or primer to settle after application.
- Apply foundation on your face directly by buffing it into your skin with a brush or patting it on with a damp applicator.
- Continue on with your make-up routine. Your foundation will set into a dewy natural finish in 1-2 hours.
- You may use a makeup setting spray to lock in your look.
I basically followed the steps above and went on with my usual makeup routine.
It did cover some of my blemishes and dark spots but not entirely. I can still see some of it peeking through. The product sit flat on my face but nothing a setting spray can’t fix.
The staying power is a good 5-6 hours for my combination skin. It did not break me out and my other makeup products stayed on a pretty good amount of time also.
Overall, I like it as a base but I kind of stay away from loose powders since they are a bit hard to work with. See also: messy. In the end, it still boil down to preferences. The product is good and worth the try. If you are fond of mineral makeups, you should check Ellana Minerals Cosmetics and support local 🙂
