Have you ever asked yourself the question, “how to learn new things?” because I do. I am a firm believer that we all should be a student of life. One of the best investments of your time is learning and teaching yourself new things.
Being a life-long learner is important because it keeps both the body and the mind in shape. Research has it that continued learning has a positive impact on your brain cells, and the 2 main reasons for learning are for personal development and professional development. In addition, one should seek learning because there is so much to learn and so much to explore.
How To Learn New Things:
- Embrace the beginner’s mind
Be open to learning and accept that the result of starting a new thing will not look as great as you thought it will be and the more you think you know, the more narrow-minded you become.
- Look for resources on things that interests you
There are millions of resources for whatever it is that you are interested in. It is just at the tip of your fingers. Google is your best friend! Observing and asking a question is another great way to collate resources and learn. There are online webinars and courses on the internet such as Skillshare, Udemy, and Masterclass which you can take advantage of.
- Use your new learnings
As Jim Rohn said, “Do not let your learning lead to knowledge. Let your learning lead to action.” A talent unused is lost, an ability unused is lost.
This topic was covered in one of our podcast episodes which you can listen to here. We presented more points on how you can learn new things. It was a fun conversation and we would love for you to check it out!
