5 questions to reflect on for the past year (2018)

To kickstart your goal-setting, you need to reflect on the past year to see what you need to sustain and what you need to change in order for you to achieve your goals.

Below are the 5 questions that I answered to help me reflect on the past year.

1. If you could describe the year in three words, what would they be?

Challenging, growth, realization. The second half of the year has been challenging to me. I’ve had a lot of breakdowns and episodes of questioning my life choices and decisions but at the end of the year, i’ve realized that I needed all those bumps to equip me for other struggles to come in. I needed those to be strong.

2. What were your highlights from 2018?

I seriously cannot think of any highlight that 2018 has given me. No actual events or whatsoever but 2018 sure taught me a lot of things and I think that can count as highlight. I am just going to list down top three learnings:

a. You need to establish an emergency fund

b. Follow up, follow up, follow up

c. When it’s too much, take a break

3. What would be your theme for the year 2019?

My theme for the year would be Create & Save. I want to build my emergency fund this year while still creating contents and other stuff that I want to put out this year. I have so much plans that needs the creative side of my brain.

4. What areas do you want to focus in 2019?

I want to focus on family, finance and my blog for this year. Upon setting up my goals for this year, I used the wheel of balance to identify the weak points/dimension of my life so I could focus on it more. I want to spend more time with my family, save, and of course, create more content for my blog. I really want my blog to grow for this year and start collaborating with brands.

5. What do you want to achieve in 2019?

Aside from achieving the physical output of my goals, I want to achieve to learn the consistency of the underlying teachings that i’ll learn while going through these goals. For example, I want to learn to always set aside a portion of my salary and cultivate it in me to consistently practice it.

I also want to achieve to practice the law of attraction more often. Here’s to manifesting good things to happen!

How about you? What are your goals for this year? Share them with me in the comments below. You can also ask yourself these questions to help you reflect on the past year.

  1. I love that you used these questions as a guide to reflect on 2018. I can relate with you about the three words about last year. Sometimes, we need that struggle to move further forward. It is so important to have an emergency fund. You don’t know when things will happen and the best person you can rely on is yourself. Hope you’ll achieve all of your goals for 2019! Sending you positive vibes!

  2. I loved these questions and can totally relate. This post was inspiring. My goal last year was to pay off my credit card which I did on New Year’s Eve 🙂 so my goal this year is quite similar to yours in that I would love an emergency fund. I wish you all the best with your goals. I think this is a fantastic way to find out what you are really aiming for! Rach
